Financial Planning Intern
Herbert Financial Group LLC (HFG) is headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI and has proudly served clients across the nation for over 37 years. Our experienced, dedicated advisory team handles over half a billion combined in advisory and brokerage assets for select families, corporate executives, and business owners. Client services include holistic financial plans, portfolio management, wealth transfer planning, risk management, estate planning and tax planning.
We are looking for a motivated, professional, and energetic individual with experience in financial planning to fill the role of Financial Planning Intern within our firm.
Career advancement opportunities to become a Paraplanner/Servicing Advisor upon graduation are available for strong performers.
Responsibilities
- Client appointment prep which includes preparing reports and internal use only consolidated spreadsheets of client’s accounts.
- Data entry into clients’ financial plan in WealthVision (eMoney – one of the industry’s top financial planning software).
- Assists the Wealth Advisors with ad-hoc requests
- Assists in development and participation of client presentations.
- Track activity completed and in process through Redtail activities and Workflows
- Participate in and provide feedback in weekly business building meeting (Peak)
Training Opportunities
- Sit in on client appointments
- Sit in on and participate in investment committee meetings
- Sit in on and participate in on meetings with business partners (representatives of investment and insurance products, CPAs, attorneys)
- Exposure and training on a wide range of investment and insurance products (mutual funds, ETFs, REITs, fixed annuities, variable annuities, term life insurance, permanent life insurance)
- Webinars on various financial planning strategies and provide summaries to the team
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Working towards bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
- Currently a Sophomore (rising Junior by summer 2023) or Junior (rising Senior by 2023) for summer 2023 internship
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Detail oriented
- Able to work within defined business processes
- Ability to achieve agreed outcomes without supervision
- Ability to work independently and on a team

Expectations
- 40 hours in office during the upcoming summer
- Opportunity to continue part time remote work into the following school year if there is need from the firm and your schedule allows
