Meet Thomas
We are honored to announce the newest addition to the HFG Team, Thomas Mahfet! Thomas joins the firm in the role of Paraplanner and will aid the team by providing direct support to the advisors as well as working on complex financial planning matters.
Thomas graduated from Western Michigan University in May of 2020 with a 4.0 GPA and Suma Cum Laude honors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Personal Financial Planning and minors in General Business, Economics, and Business Analytics. Thomas was proudly selected as the Presidential Scholar for the Finance and Commercial Law department in 2019 which is the highest academic award that WMU bestows upon its students. Thomas interned at Herbert Financial Group back in 2017. After he completed his internship, he went on to work for another top financial planning firm in Michigan for four years before coming full circle and joining the HFG Team as a full-time Paraplanner. He is currently a candidate for CFP® certification.
Staff Promotions!
We are also excited to announce two promotions within our HFG Team! Kevin Pierce, CFP®, AIF®, has been promoted to the role of Senior Paraplanner and Brandon Basela has been promoted to the role of Operations Associate.
Kevin began his journey with HFG in 2019 as a Paraplanner and through the years has shown exponential growth, drive, and leadership abilities. In his exciting new role, Kevin will be focusing on assisting the Wealth Advisors with monitoring the ever-changing investment, economic, and governmental agencies policies and incorporating the impact on client’s unique financial plans. In addition, he will oversee the Paraplanners as well as our talented college interns.
Brandon began his journey with HFG in 2017 as a college intern. While taking a full course load and working, he progressively took on more responsibilities and moved to the role of senior intern. Upon graduation, Brandon's determination, attention-to-detail, and strong work ethic earned him the promotion to a full-time Operations Associate where he now aids the team in servicing our wonderful clientele.
Incoming Calls Update
If you have not yet had the opportunity to speak with Brandon or Thomas, you will be delighted when you do! In their new roles, both of them will be assisting our Wealth Advisors by taking incoming client calls, addressing your questions, and conducting research in order to aid the Advisors in answering your questions.
